What is the Best Membership Website Design?
When it comes to website design it’s always better to be user friendly than it is to have the coolest site out there. Too much stuff on your site does not help the visitor. It actually hurts the user experience. They get confused and frustrated because they can’t find what they’re looking for easily. That usually means they leave your site.
So how do you prevent that from happening? Considering there are two successful ways to start a membership site we need to cover them both. The good news is one of them is way easier than the other. Let’s cover the tough one first.
Traditional Membership Website Design
The first site is your traditional membership site. This is one where you have to regularly add and update content manually. Members have to log into and access the site using a membership site software or script. When using this kind of site you want to make sure it has three things. They are:
1. Login Area Clearly Identified
Nothing is more frustrating then not knowing how to log into a site that you’re paying for. Be sure to have a login link at the top and bottom of each page as well as a login box on your landing page. This should be enough to satisfy even the most stubborn member.
2. Limit Your Site to Two-Columns
Whatever you do, don’t make your site so complicated to navigate that members struggle to find what they are looking for. The easiest way to prevent this is to have a navigation bar on the left or right hand side and the content in the main area of the page.
3. Have Your FAQ Link Clearly Visible
This tip not only benefits your members but it also benefits you. By placing a FAQ link on all your pages you will eliminate a ton of questions and support issues before they even get to you. That saves you time. When a member can get answers to their most common questions that saves them frustration. And that of course equals more money in your pocket.
Bonus Tip
It’s also important to have a search function so people can easily find what they’re looking for. There is nothing more aggravating then when you’re trying to find a solution to a problem and not be able to do a simple search on the membership site.
Automatic Content Membership Websites
These website are my favorite and I use them to create all my membership sites. This site is much easier to run because you use an autoresponder to automatically send the content for you. Since the autoresponder does most of the work you don’t have to worry about third party software or scripts. That means there is no member login area on your site!
The best website design for these membership sites is a simple one-page sales letter or minisite. Once someone signs up for your membership they are directed to your autoresponder signup page. Then all you have to do is upload your content to the autoresponder. You don’t have to touch your website!
These sites are very easy to setup and can be done very quickly. There is no software or scripts to learn. These membership sites are proven to be more profitable than their traditional counterparts. And they’re easier to operate. Talk about a win-win!
Next Step:
If I can show you how you can easily and quickly setup your own membership website in less than two days and set it up so you have actual paying customers giving you a nice residual income every single month would it be worth 10 minutes of your time?
If so, please go to http://www.YouCanStartAMembershipSite.com for a free video showing you the exact formula I personally use to create highly profitable membership sites very quickly.

How to Build a Membership Site in 5 Easy Steps
Membership websites are basically just he same as other websites that are existing online except that these websites are exclusive for members. Membership websites are sometimes called member-only websites, or subscription websites or mentor websites, which are mostly paid membership sites.
Over the internet, you can find lots of them especially those that offer tutorial services, database services, and even those who enjoy great hobbies and want to teach others online for a fee. If you are very good in making websites, for example, you can put up a membership website and share your video tutorials on how to design websites. Skills such as these are great things to share online – and not just share but something that you can make money as well. Playing certain instruments for instance are also great talents that you can share in membership websites.

1. Choose your topic. This is one of the basic elements of a profitable membership website. In fact, a good choice of the topic can determine the profitability of your membership site. Choose something that a lot of people are looking for online – web designing, Photoshop tutorial, online photography lessons and many others. If you are already an expert on a certain field, then you don’t have to worry about finding your best topic as well.
2. Set up your website’s design. If you are a designer yourself, you can take care of this but if not, you can always get a freelance web designer to do the job for you. 3. Add content to your site. Articles, videos, photos, downloadable files and many other things that you wish to share with your audience. Of course, it is important to focus on quality information and resources as this is what online readers have paid for. Keeping your members satisfied should also be your focus.
4. Test and try your website. Form the payment forms to the navigational tools as well as your links, make sure that every thing is in place before introducing it t the online world.
5. Do not only learn how to build a membership site, also market and promote your website online. Of course, you need to bring people to your website or else, you will be wasting your time and effort in building a website that only a few frequent. You can start promoting your website through affiliate marketing, which is an ideal marketing setup if you don’t have the time to do it yourself.

Membership Website – How to Make Money With Membership Websites
Possibly the most misunderstood part of starting a membership website is why do people signup to be a member of a membership website. When someone joins a membership site, they are looking for a solution to a problem they have. Your members will be looking for a quick solution so you will have to provide one. Finally, you need to plan your membership content so your membership site members will remain members.
If you are considering starting a membership website, you should ask yourself what can you offer than no one else is offering. The unique benefit does not have to be earth shattering. It could be as simple as a checklist that no one is offering for completing a task such as setting up an autoresponder sequence. A unique benefit could be describing the best way to lose 3 pounds in a week. Can you create checklists or unique provide information that no one else is providing? Of course you can because we all have unique knowledge due to the different experiences in our lives. Developing content that is unique simply requires a little self examination about the experiences you have had.
Once you begin developing your unique content, you have to understand that people who joined your membership website are looking for a quick solution. Providing a quick solution does not mean you have to provide a complete solution. For example, if someone joins your membership site with the goal of losing 20 pounds, it would be unhealthy to try and lose 20 pounds in the first month. However, if you can show him or her how to lose 3 pounds in the first week, you have provided a quick solution. You want your members to understand to get the full benefit of your membership site, they need to remain a member after they have lost the initial first 3 pounds. You need to deliver what you promised to get people to sign up for your membership website.
Finally, your content should be laid out in a step by step process with a clear outcome. You have to deliver on your promise. If you claim that you will teach someone how to use PowerPoint to create a video, that is exactly what they should learn from start to finish. People will quit a membership site if you are providing information that is not useful to them when your provide it.
Most people believe you have to have all your content in place to begin a membership site. That is not true. You should deliver a small portion of your content on a weekly basis. You do not want to overwhelm your subscribers with your content. You provide a portion of the overall solution, allowing your members to see some progress each week with a fixed term or non-fixed term membership website.

4 Key Elements of Setting Up a Successful Membership Site
Membership sites are very attractive because of the regular inflow of income, but you need to first ask yourself why” you want to build it. Building and running a membership site is one form of Information Marketing and that “why” is probably your most important first step. If you are to be successful, whichever medium or delivery method you chose, there are five key considerations. They are:
o How many people are searching for the information?
o Are other businesses paying to advertise in the niche?
o How much information is currently available?
o Is it paid for or free information?
o Do you have a passionate, hungry crowd, or is this niche just a fad?
I have said that you need to choose your topic carefully and that’s because it’s the key to a successful site. Membership sites are mostly aimed at people who are passionate about a topic, so to help you identify whether or not you have a winning membership site idea, you need to consider these key points before you set up your site:
** To give you an indication of the popularity of your market you must do a daily search on your niche keywords in the Wordtracker keyword for at least a week. You are looking for a return of around 3,000 plus for a viable market.
** Now check with the main search engines to see whether there are any existing membership sites and then search key words and topics in your niche. You want to know what types of products are being advertised, for example eBooks, audio/video products, eZines and downloads, and what delivery method is being used.
** It is important that you determine the level of information that is offered and what the split is between free or paid information in your niche. Notice how much information is free because if there’s a lot then it raises the question of why people would pay to have access to the information on your site? Free content is not a reason to dismiss building your own membership site , but you must develop a unique perspective on the topic for it to have a chance of being successful.
** Membership sites that are successful have longevity. There is no point investing the time and money it takes to build a site if it’s based around a passing trend that won’t last. The sole exception to this is when a trend is very strong in terms of numbers and you can deliver and build a membership site fast, and be the first to do so, then it may be worth it. For the majority of sites however you are looking at the long haul which means your subject matter needs to be perennial. Potential customers should be passionate about the subject and you need enough of them wanting constant information about it.
** People vary in how they like to receive information, so deliver it in a number of different mediums to cater for that. For instance; some people learn by watching, so a DVD is a natural fit for them, but others like to read so eBooks are geared to them, and still others like to listen so your eBook would become an mp3 audio download for that section of your list.
So what are the five key reasons that people will join a membership site?
A membership site needs a sufficient number of paying customers to be successful and to attract and appeal to potential subscribers you must give them a compelling reason to join. These are the five key reasons why people subscribe to membership sites.
1 Business or career related
Gives benefits for these people aiming to improve their business or fast track their career.
2 Investment related
Finance or investments are very attractive to people and they like the idea of having the inside track on something and so are willing to pay for that ‘edge’.
3 Hobby Related
People with hobbies are enthusiastic consumers of information about their subject and a membership sites gives them access to information and a community of like minded people.
4 Education Related
Online is a brilliant way for people to have access to a learning experience that they may have missed out in their own schooling, or have no access to locally.
5 Service Related
Becoming a member delivers additional benefits, such as joining a motoring organisation like the RAC. Your subscription doesn’t just give you breakdown cover but access to member benefits like cheaper car insurance or low rates of finance. So the value of being a member of this type of site is much more than just the annual subscription.
Last word
In order to successfully appeal to potential subscribers you must be attractive on at least two of these five reasons. If you have chosen the right topic that will bring them in and keep them there, then your chances of succeeding are far higher.
If you are willing to do your homework, research your niche, and establish if there is a worthwhile market then you will find it well worth the effort.

How To Create A Highly Profitable Membership Website

Discover the #1 Secret to creating a highly profitable membership website. Check out this FREE report that tells you how… HOW TO BUILD A MEMBERSHIP WEBSITE
Membership Website – 6 Success Strategies to Implement
Here are some strategies that have helped me create a highly profitable membership website and can help you do the same.
Make your membership website a continuity program. Not all membership websites are continuity programs, some have a course format and have a distinct beginning and ending. Your best bet is to format your members only website so that it can continually deliver fresh current information to your client, and they can reap the benefits of the membership for years to come.
Tracking your marketing
Take a systematic approach to your marketing and continually select new factors to test. Record the results of your testing so that over time you can continue to improve upon your marketing results. If you want to test the impact of several changes together seek the help of a professional or a software program that specializes in multivariate testing.
Create automated systems that allow you to leverage your time.
Utilize technology and outsourcing to put your business on autopilot so that it makes money whether you show up to work that day or not. Although it takes a little more time up front, this strategy will pay off by allowing you a freedom you will appreciate for some time to come. It will also create the free time that you need to spend more time “working on” your business, doing things that add value to it instead of having to spend all of your time “working in” it.
Well constructed product funnel to support your membership website
Establishing a complete product funnel with simple, relatively inexpensive offerings in addition to the larger monetary and time commitment of the membership website will provide new clients with an alternative if they are not yet ready to join the members only website. After you establish a relationship with them as a client it is likely they will want to become a subscriber to your password website.
Choose a very specific niche.
Selecting a single well defined niche market will allow you to customize your teaching tools so that you can provide better solutions than the more generalized competition. You will also be able to create marketing tools that convert a higher percentage of your prospects into clients.
Solve problems that require continual maintenance to resolve.
You don’t want to be in a position where you are trying to sell your clients a long-term membership to a website that they don’t need. Make sure to position yourself so that you are providing benefits or solving problems that will naturally require regular maintenance and new information to preserve.
Are you ready to take the next step toward turning your skills into profitable membership websites that can earn you massive (and practically passive) income? I will lay out for you the step-by-step process I used to build a paid membership website that generated over $50,000.00 per MONTH (with practically no overhead), in less than 4 years. This includes: How to choose your specialty, systematize it, market it and deliver it to your clients, all served to you on a silver spoon. Increase Membership Sales – 15 Simple Tips to Boost Membership Site Profits
Learning to increase membership sales isn’t as complex as it seems. While some may want you to believe that it’s as complicated as advanced calculus, it’s not. You might find it surprising to know that increasing membership sales is as easy as 1,2,3.
1) Ask yourself this question: Would you buy a membership from your site? If the answer is no, you will never increase membership sales. When you have confidence in your products, it shows.
2) Would you rather pay $15 for a product and only get an automated response when you need assistance? Or would you rather pay $25 for the same product and know that you’re going to get assistance when you need it? Good customer service always wins.
3) No one is going to pay $29.99 a month for a site if it looks as if it was made by a 5 year old. If you’re not sure that your membership site looks up to par, ask for reviews from other webmasters and Internet marketers.
4) Make a blog or pay someone to do it for you. A blog is a great way to promote your website and products. Give your readers a taste of what your website has to offer and you’ll leave them begging for more.
5) Include testimonials, reviews, statistical graphs, etc. on your website. This shows future customers that other people are already enjoying your product or service.
6) Offering referrals is a great way to get your customers to do some of the work for you. Give your previous customers a discount on their membership or a free gift for new customers that they bring in.
7) Have 2-3 different membership levels (free, silver, gold, etc.). This way you can increase membership sales by accommodating more customers according to their budget. Just remember to add more quality content as the membership level goes higher.
Make sure your domain and product names are catchy and easy to remember. Everyone will remember iloveapples.com, but no one is going to remember ilovegrannysmithapplesfromohio.com.
9) Sign up for places like Yahoo! answers and Google answers. Find questions that people are asking that are related to your products or service. Once you’ve answered a question, you can add your link as the ”source”.
10) Writing articles is an easy way to promote your membership site. Write an article about one of your products or services and submit it to various articles directories. If you don’t have the time or know how to do so, hire an article writer to complete the task.
11) Advertise with your signature. Place a link to your website in the signature section of your profile to every message board and forum that you belong to. Do this for your email accounts as well.
12) When you have the extra cash, a quick way to increase membership sales is by buying the often-misspelled versions of your domain name and redirecting them to your site.
13) Visit the websites of your competitors to see what you’re missing. Take notes on how they market their products and what they’re offering their members in return.
14) Create a blog, photo album, forum, etc. for your members. Not only will this get your customers an incentive to continue their membership, but it will attract new members as well.
15) Giving trial memberships is one of the best ways to increase membership sales. Give your future customers a limited amount of days they can access the site or limit the pages they can view.
No matter how many of these methods you use to increase your membership sales, you will receive fantastic results. Not only will these tips keep your current customers from canceling their memberships, you’ll add new members along the way.

How To Find The Best Membership Site Software

Membership Site Software Puts You in Control – Take Advantage of This Hot Technique
Membership sites are all the rage for internet marketing today. Paid content, downloads and e-courses can all be secured by using a membership script. There are many advantages to using these types of programs. Here are a few:
Reason 1- it allows you to control the delivery of your product or content. If you are running your own membership site software you are in charge of who can log in and who cannot. Most of the membership site products allow access to the content only after payment through a third-party processor like PayPal or Clickbank. The software allows you to set your price, and the length of time you will allow access to the content.
Reason 2 – Membership site software allows for recurring income. With some sites collecting monthly or annual membership fees, your site can be a good source of recurring revenue. You need to be sure that you keep updating the content of your membership site regularly, so the users will be getting a good value for their money.
Reason 3 – you stop being dependent on other people’s products for your online income. Membership site software allows you to distribute your own content – you control the content and ultimately determine the value your customers get for their investment. With this responsibility, you get the benefit of being in control of your own destiny. You will not be at the mercy of a product vendor, as is the case with affiliate marketers.
Create valuable content, put it on the web and charge for the access. It’s the membership site model and is working well for smart marketers all over the web.

How To Create Simple & Effective Membership Sites

One Huge Membership Site Or Lots of Little Ones?
When you are putting together your membership and hashing out the exact solution you’re going to provide, you’re probably confused about should you cover everything or should you cover only one specific problem. In other words, should you create one huge membership site or should you put out lots of little ones.
Now, normally when I create one-off products, I just like to say one problem, one solution. But when you’re making a membership site, it can get really crazy, especially if you offer things like upsells and different extra offers. People have to log in to these different membership sites.
The cool thing about a lot of membership software, such as Wishlist Member, is that if somebody already has an account and they purchase access to an additional member level, like an extra product, they can click on a special link and have that extra level applied to their existing account. For that reason, I would recommend to you that for a recurring membership, I would only create one membership per sub-niche.
Now, what’s a sub-niche? A sub-niche is a niche within a niche. This means that I would never have a membership just internet marketing. That’s too big of a space. But I would have a membership covering everything I know about list building. That way, if I have upsells about list building, people use the same exact membership site. That way, I have enough content to charge up to $97 per month for access to that. Have one membership site per sub-niche.
But the problem with having one site for all of your information is that it will be hard to navigate. Another example, I am also in the programming niche that includes things such as PHP, WordPress, JavaScript. Would I have one membership site for all things in programming? No way. I would have one membership site for PHP, one membership site for WordPress, and one membership site for JavaScript. You kind of have to have a membership site that’s not so big, that you can’t explain it, you can’t give an elevator pitch for. These would be small enough that you can give an elevator pitch, but big enough that you can store multiple products and charge a recurring monthly fee.
Now, think about this. Think about the drip content. If you give a product that has extra bonuses, extra lessons dripped out, think about how confusing that would be if somebody joined the site about internet marketing, which again is far too big of area for you to have a site about and for the first, where they got list building week one, they got product creation week one, they got article writing week one, they got site building week one, they got AdSense week one – all the stuff that’s flooding into that, it would be very confusing. But if you had a site just about site building, then you could very easily give them week one, week two, and week three lessons.
Keep those rules in mind when deciding if you want to have one huge site or lots of little ones. Pick a niche and then for each sub-niche within that, create a membership but don’t go too small or too big – because if you make a site too small, people will have to join multiple sites, and if you make it too big, people won’t be able to find anything once they joined your site.
