How To Start A Membership Site And Make Money Online
One of the best ways to make money online is to start your own membership site. Any internet marketer will tell you that the biggest challenge is launching a product and making sales. With a membership site, they join and you’ve got them for the duration. As long as you offer them quality information, they’ll stay members forever.
The way it works is that they pay to access the site, and then they receive a password. It’s the modern-day equivalent to a magazine subscription, but it’s much more interactive than flipping through the pages. Through the site, you offer them not only information, but offers, special deals and exclusive products. People are more willing than ever to spend money on information services as long as you offer them something they can use. Best of all, it costs almost nothing to run a membership site, which means that you pocket whatever you make.
Starting Your Membership Site In A Few Easy Steps
The first, and most important decision, is to choose your niche. What are you passionate about? When people build websites based on their passions and interests, they are always more successful. If you go with a niche that you think will make huge money, but you’re not personally interested in it, you won’t be able to bring much energy to it, and this will show. Your topic is something you’ll become an expert about.
As you kick around ideas based on your interests and passions, start doing a little marketing research. See if people are searching for information on your topic. Even more important, see if people are PAYING for information on your topic. If it’s something you’re passionate about but there is no market for it, you’ll get limited results from your membership site. Try to find something that other people are into too.
Once you’ve got your topic, it’s time to create the site. Spend some time thinking of a good name that describes what it’s all about. It should also be catchy and unique. You can create the site yourself, or outsource this task. For many people who have never made websites before, outsourcing is a great way to go. It costs some money but you’ll get the site you need out of it.
When designing your site, make it unique. You should offer something to your members that nobody else is offering. Have a look at other sites in your niche and see what they’re doing. Try to make yours stand out. Address some angle of the topic that nobody else has yet.
Finally, market your site. Find the people who are passionate about your topic like you are, and put your message in front of them. Give them some free stuff that shows them that your site’s worth it, and you’ll have members joining left and right. Once you’ve got it going, keep fresh content and great offers coming, and you’ll create an internet cash machine that keeps on paying you.

Creating Your Membership Site Or Coaching Club

Discover the #1 Secret to creating your membership site or coaching club. Check out this FREE report that tells you how… HOW TO BUILD A MEMBERSHIP SITE FAST
Creating Your Membership Site Or Coaching Club in 30 Days
What’s a coaching club? It’s simply a membership-based mentoring programs and a great way to offer support to your customers and continuity income in your business.
Here are the TOP seven reasons why you absolutely need to start your own membership-based program without any further delay:
1. Predictable cashflow creates a stress-free space and peace of mind.
2. No more “slow months” or “seasonal income.”
3. Freedom to build any kind of business, while your basics are covered.
4. Works is optional. You don’t have to show up to generate revenue. You don’t have to work every minute of every day.
5. Best way to create stability in any economy.
6. Easiest way to accumulate cash and wealth.
7. You position yourself at the top of the “herd” in your niche market.
I then demonstrated how running a SINGLE membership-based program will create a six-figure income for you…
… EVEN IF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE!
So, how do you come up with a great membership-based program, web site, or tool, that will keep members subscribed for months or even years?
Here are a few questions to help you brainstorm a winning idea:
- What would simplify people’s lives in your niche?
- What do they constantly complain about?
- What do they find annoying?
- What do they have to deal with on a regular basis?
- What would save them a lot of time?
- What biggest problems do they constantly try to solve?
- What type of information are they always looking for?
- What kind of goals do they constantly try to reach?
HOT TIP: If you have no idea where to start…
… SURVEY!
My favorite type of a membership-based program is a “coaching club.” A very quick definition for you:
“A coaching club is a niche-specific membership-based mentoring program, where participants gain access to a community of peers, content, models, tools, inspiration
and implementation support to advance their most important goals.”
I’ve seen many coaching clubs and membership programs launch and die within just a few months (including a few of my own!). There are three reasons it happens.
- Choosing the Wrong Topic (solve a problem, PLEASE!)
- Giving Too Much Content or Adding Too Many “Bells and Whistles” (do people know what your CORE OFFER is?)
- Trying to Create All Content At Once or Waiting Too
Long to Start (nobody wants your content all at once,
anyway, so no need to do that!)
Regardless of what else you offer in your business, a coaching club is a great way to create a stable cash flow and establish yourself as the “top dog” in your niche market.

Membership Site or Password Access?
Many infopreneurs provide some sort of password-protected access to their Web site, so they can offer additional resources to audiences, clients and members. Some also think about expanding this to a full membership site. Which of these is better for your business? It depends on a number of things.
Broadly, the password access happens in one of two ways:
- Password Access: Let’s use this phrase to describe a simple password on your Web site that gives people access to a hidden page of information. For example, you might give your audience a password so they can download the slides or handouts from your presentation.
- Membership Site: A more comprehensive Web site with on-going value. In this case, you usually charge members a monthly fee for access to the site.
Here are the pros and cons of the two options.
The second option sounds better, doesn’t it?
All other things being equal, of course the membership site seems more attractive for you. This is very nice work if you can get it, because you generate on-going income from a single sale.
However, before you jump right in and start promoting this to all your new clients, consider these potential limitations:
- It’s more difficult to sell, because you’re asking your customer to make a commitment to an on-going payment.
- You have to keep up-to-date with your area of expertise, because your members are expecting you to give them current information, not out-of-date information. On the other hand, if you simply sell them access to a members-only area, you’re not promising that the information in it will remain current at all times.
- You have to keep devoting time to the site, to keep your members satisfied.
- If you only have a few members, you might not be happy with what you’re getting paid for your time.
- Regardless of how good your membership site is, members will leave from time to time, so you have to keep bringing in new members.
This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t build and promote a membership site; it just means you should think carefully about it.
Consider the simpler password access instead…
Instead of trying to create an on-going income stream from each sale, you can simply increase your fees by bundling in more value to your presentations.
For example, with a corporate client, you can sell them access to your “Members Resource Centre”, which is a password-protected area of your Web site. Again, the same applies to coaching clients, public seminar attendees, workshop participants and others who buy you.
You still generate more income this way, but it’s not on-going income. However, that might be better for you when you weigh that up against the on-going efforts to market, manage and maintain a full membership site.

Build A Forum On Your Membership Site

Discover the #1 Secret to increasing sales on your membership site. Check out this FREE report that tells you how… EASY WEBSITE CREATOR
10 Things You Need to Build a Forum
A forum has a few definitions , including:
- A public meeting place for open discussion.
- A medium for voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper, a radio or television program, or a website.
- A public presentation involving a discussion usually among peers and experts and often including audience participation.
This gives us the basis to say that most “forums” should be public in nature. And the objective of this entity should be towards discussion and voicing of individual opinions of a common nature. The participants can be anyone, or can be of a niche area. When we talk about Internet Forums, we typically do not deviate too much from this basic ideology. So keeping this in mind, we shall proceed to ascertain what we need to build a Internet Forum.
First and foremost, we shall need to identify WHY I am to build this forum. Quite frankly, when i say ‘what do you need to build a forum’ , you may pretty well suggest – Willingness or desire to create one and operate it. And a closely related topic can be “Need of a forum for the topic “. Willingness means you are dedicated towards building a spot for like-minded people. It also means that you can devote time to making it – which is easily a very important factor.
As already mentioned in the first point, you should also determine if there is a need for building the forum you are. Without the need, you may pretty well build the forum, but that might be the end of it as well.
Coming to more practical points, the third is to decide on the software and technology necessary to create the Forum. When we say a Forum, in Internet lingo, we usually mean a Message Board. Among various message board softwares available these days – some are free / open source and some are paid – yearly or one time. As the creator / Administrator you will have to purchase or acquire this software or decide on this platform. Some of the better known softwares include – vBulletin , Invisionboard, phpBB , FusionBB, BBPress, Simpe Machines Forum, Vanilla, UBB Threads, PunBB and many others.
So what next – the choice is many, but an important aspect might be finding a expert who can help you in installing the software, customizing it to your needs and helping with it’s design. While some of you may already have the expertise, it would be best to consult with a developer who has the expertise in working with a few of these softwares. Running a message board or forum, requires dedicated attention over time – so having a knowledgeable expert you can keep returning to or having on a full time basis is needed.
Although nowadays most forum softwares come with a sleek looking design template of its own, it is important to know that the default design will exist on hundreds of forums. But for you to succeed, you must think of getting a new template to make your website forum look better than the rest. If you have a budget , think of getting a custom template designed for your site only. Adorn it with your website logo , colors and theme – for example , if your forum is for Books , having the look and feel of a bookstore, book cover or library and anything similar might be an idea. Custom icons such as bookworms, page marker, buttons and anything that you can think off – just goes on to show how much contextual you want your site to be.
Apart from the basic software and its template , you may not necessarily need further modifications, but the Forum business is quite competitive. Running a forum requires keeping your members happy and interested in your ongoing activities. Since majority of your visitors can be returning visitors, and your site thrives on their discussion, commenting – try to find out if any custom modifications can keep them engaged. Some of the commonly known modifications are having a Points system. Every user interaction can be rewarded with points, user badges and contests and prizes.
Once you have got your Internet forum up and running, you will need to fill it up with new members, attract more and more traffic from other hangouts, chat rooms, Forums and most importantly the Search Engines. Without ample members, a forum will dry up and become dead. Not only will you have to get members, give them topics to discuss and comment on but also you will have to ensure that they are some unique offerings. All the regular members come to forums to participate but you as the site owner, will have to take the initiative . Start off addictive games, controversial topics, share new and thought inspiring articles .
From my experience I can tell you that getting off to nice start is not that much difficult . In my time, I have had the good luck and opportunity to administer 3-4 semi-large to large forums. One on the topic of webmasters, one on Television and one adult in nature. The largest had over 100,000 members and this brings me to the topic of controlling the forum and forum activity. As the Admin or from the Admin group, you must keep a popular yet strict stance on Forum policies and rules. without proper rules set, not only will you run into trouble, much of your time will be wasted in unnecessary activities when it could have been spent in popularizing and monetizing the forum. The need for Rules and Guidelines can not be underplayed while making a Internet Forum.
As your forum grows and keeps growing , I believe you will find the need for building a Team. A committee formed from amongst your existing forum members, who will help you out in running the administration. Not only will their task be administrative, but also in content generation, advertising elsewhere, liaising with the members and also helping your site in showing a democratic face – so to speak.
And last but not the least , by far, should be the need for making money out of the whole deal. While many of us make Forums because they can – they have the resources in terms of money, hosting space, webmaster abilities, experience in gathering a team of like-minded individuals, in the end the forum will not run for long unless it helps the owner in gathering money – directly or indirectly. As the site owner, you can generate income through PPC Ads, Banner Ads, Text Links, Product Endorsements, Forum Memberships, Newsletter sponsoring and several other ways and means. But I can again tell you from my experience, that the more popular the site becomes, generating money will become a necessity .

Find Out the Best Free Website Creator
The internet technology exists since 1960 but the beginning of web development started in 1994. People showed more and more interest towards it. HTML was commonly used by developers for building websites. As the technology developed, programmers came up with lots of solutions for non-programmers to build a website.
As of now, tremendous amount of software are available to create a website. Some of them are free of cost and some cost a lot. Some of the free website creators are even better than the paid ones. Dreamweaver is considered to be the best website maker and the most powerful one. A lot of complex websites are made using this software.
But Dreamweaver costs a lot and not so easy to use, so it is used mostly by developers. There are other great software you can use to build your website for completely free. They are extremely powerful and designed for beginners. With all my researches, I think Yola, formally called Synthesite is the best website maker.
There are some other ones as well such as Weebly, Wix, Wetpaint and others. But Yola stands out from them because of its simplicity, cost and the features. Whether you are creating a website or a blog, their service is perfect for you. There is no download needed, it’s all web based.
All you need to do is to register for an account and it’s all set up. The best thing about this service is, it offers unlimited disk space and bandwidth for absolutely free. Their free website creator is amazing; anyone can use it without facing any trouble. You just need to drag and drop the content on your site.
They have ready made templates for you, so there is practically nothing to do in terms of designs. There is also a lot of add-on that can be done just with a click of your mouse. Overall the service is extremely recommended, because first of all, it’s free and secondly it’s extremely easy to use.
They also provide you with a sub-domain but you can also add your domain name for only 15$/year, which is relatively cheap for unlimited hosting and bandwidth with a great website builder. Now the best part about this service is, they let you monetize as well.
AdSense can be easily integrated in the system. Unlike their competitors such as Weebly, they don’t take a share from your ads revenue. Weebly is a great service as well, but it takes 50% of your ad revenue. Yola does not hold any rights in terms of your ad revenue.

How to Increase Membership Sales With Proven Marketing and Sales Strategies
Starting a membership website is one of the most powerful and stable ways to earn consistently on the Internet. People are willing to pay for access to valuable information, products and services; and you can successfully take advantage of this. You just need to be skillful and creative enough to make your business venture stand out from the rest.
This article discusses some useful ideas that could help you increase your membership sales and retain more members to your membership website.
Membership Site Marketing And Promotion
No matter how great or valuable your content is, it will not make you any money unless you make people aware of its existence. The good news is that the Internet offers excellent marketing opportunities… even if you don’t have much to invest yet in your advertising campaign. Here are some ideas:
1) Optimize your membership website for targeted keywords, so interested people could find it in the search engines easily. Search for “search engine optimization” or SEO in Google to learn some tips and tactics about how to get your site ranked highly for your keywords.
2) Create a separate website designed for the purpose of promoting a paid membership one. This could be a squeeze page that can offer a small part of your content to give a taste of what your paid service is like. It is also useful in link building to your paid membership site.
3) Having your own affiliate program is a powerful way to leverage from other people’s assets. You can have other marketers promote your membership site through their own websites, and they will have an incentive to do a good job as you are going to share part of the profit with them.
You can provide incentives – such as discounts or bonuses – for your existing customers to promote your website by bringing in new members. But the better option is to make every one of your members your affiliates. Provide them with all the necessary affiliate tools and training materials (video works best) to help them earn affiliate commissions.
4) Some free marketing strategies may work as effectively as – or even better than – any paid method. You can include links to your website through a forum sig line or blog comment (but make sure you follow the rules and do it subtly). Informative articles posted on the pages of high-PR article directories could reach a large number of people and create better awareness of your site.
It’s best to diversify your marketing as much as possible to attract more paying members. Make sure you attractively and informatively describe the features, benefits and advantages of your services in your site and advertisement messages. You could choose to outsource this part of the marketing and have a professional copywriter do the work for you.
Sales Strategies To Increase Membership Sales
Your sales strategy is vital when you are aiming to increase the income from your membership website.
1) Free trials are being used by many marketers, simply because they reduce skepticism and get more orders. Make your offer appealing and irresistible, highlighting the benefits of your full membership.
2) Offer more member categories with different levels of access for the various types of content you have to offer. You can offer discounts for existing members to sign up to an upper category. Diversify your promotional offers by providing an automatic sign up to a higher level of access to new members only for a limited time period.
3) Encourage prospects to make full payment for one year, or even a lifetime membership, by offering discounts or other incentives. This helps in reducing the cancellation rate.
4) Provide high quality and innovative services, and always have a support desk available to attend to their needs.
5) Use the power of Web 2.0 and networking. Send Twitter alerts about upcoming posting of valuable content, exclusive news, promotional offers and all other things that can be applicable to your particular service. Provide your members with networking opportunities by adding a forum on your website.
6) Show your customers as much personal attention and care as possible. Sending greeting cards on holidays, for example, can be done cheaply and quickly.
The best thing about adopting any of these strategies is that they will not only make your membership website more attractive, but will also allow you to charge more in the form of subscription fees.
You could multiply your membership website income as long as you dedicate sufficient time and attention in carrying out the methods described above. Wishing you more membership site profits!

How to Set Up A Successful Membership Site With Easy Website Creator

4 Key Elements of Setting Up a Successful Membership Site
Membership sites are very attractive because of the regular inflow of income, but you need to first ask yourself why” you want to build it. Building and running a membership site is one form of Information Marketing and that “why” is probably your most important first step. If you are to be successful, whichever medium or delivery method you chose, there are five key considerations. They are:
o How many people are searching for the information?
o Are other businesses paying to advertise in the niche?
o How much information is currently available?
o Is it paid for or free information?
o Do you have a passionate, hungry crowd, or is this niche just a fad?
I have said that you need to choose your topic carefully and that’s because it’s the key to a successful site. Membership sites are mostly aimed at people who are passionate about a topic, so to help you identify whether or not you have a winning membership site idea, you need to consider these key points before you set up your site:
** To give you an indication of the popularity of your market you must do a daily search on your niche keywords in the Wordtracker keyword for at least a week. You are looking for a return of around 3,000 plus for a viable market.
** Now check with the main search engines to see whether there are any existing membership sites and then search key words and topics in your niche. You want to know what types of products are being advertised, for example eBooks, audio/video products, eZines and downloads, and what delivery method is being used.
** It is important that you determine the level of information that is offered and what the split is between free or paid information in your niche. Notice how much information is free because if there’s a lot then it raises the question of why people would pay to have access to the information on your site? Free content is not a reason to dismiss building your own membership site , but you must develop a unique perspective on the topic for it to have a chance of being successful.
** Membership sites that are successful have longevity. There is no point investing the time and money it takes to build a site if it’s based around a passing trend that won’t last. The sole exception to this is when a trend is very strong in terms of numbers and you can deliver and build a membership site fast, and be the first to do so, then it may be worth it. For the majority of sites however you are looking at the long haul which means your subject matter needs to be perennial. Potential customers should be passionate about the subject and you need enough of them wanting constant information about it.
** People vary in how they like to receive information, so deliver it in a number of different mediums to cater for that. For instance; some people learn by watching, so a DVD is a natural fit for them, but others like to read so eBooks are geared to them, and still others like to listen so your eBook would become an mp3 audio download for that section of your list.
So what are the five key reasons that people will join a membership site?
A membership site needs a sufficient number of paying customers to be successful and to attract and appeal to potential subscribers you must give them a compelling reason to join. These are the five key reasons why people subscribe to membership sites.
1 Business or career related
Gives benefits for these people aiming to improve their business or fast track their career.
2 Investment related
Finance or investments are very attractive to people and they like the idea of having the inside track on something and so are willing to pay for that ‘edge’.
3 Hobby Related
People with hobbies are enthusiastic consumers of information about their subject and a membership sites gives them access to information and a community of like minded people.
4 Education Related
Online is a brilliant way for people to have access to a learning experience that they may have missed out in their own schooling, or have no access to locally.
5 Service Related
Becoming a member delivers additional benefits, such as joining a motoring organisation like the RAC. Your subscription doesn’t just give you breakdown cover but access to member benefits like cheaper car insurance or low rates of finance. So the value of being a member of this type of site is much more than just the annual subscription.
Last word
In order to successfully appeal to potential subscribers you must be attractive on at least two of these five reasons. If you have chosen the right topic that will bring them in and keep them there, then your chances of succeeding are far higher.
If you are willing to do your homework, research your niche, and establish if there is a worthwhile market then you will find it well worth the effort.

Membership Site Software Puts You in Control – Take Advantage of This Hot Technique
Membership sites are all the rage for internet marketing today. Paid content, downloads and e-courses can all be secured by using a membership script. There are many advantages to using these types of programs. Here are a few:
Reason 1- it allows you to control the delivery of your product or content. If you are running your own membership site software you are in charge of who can log in and who cannot. Most of the membership site products allow access to the content only after payment through a third-party processor like PayPal or Clickbank. The software allows you to set your price, and the length of time you will allow access to the content.
Reason 2 – Membership site software allows for recurring income. With some sites collecting monthly or annual membership fees, your site can be a good source of recurring revenue. You need to be sure that you keep updating the content of your membership site regularly, so the users will be getting a good value for their money.
Reason 3 – you stop being dependent on other people’s products for your online income. Membership site software allows you to distribute your own content – you control the content and ultimately determine the value your customers get for their investment. With this responsibility, you get the benefit of being in control of your own destiny. You will not be at the mercy of a product vendor, as is the case with affiliate marketers.
Create valuable content, put it on the web and charge for the access. It’s the membership site model and is working well for smart marketers all over the web.

How To Create Simple & Effective Membership Sites

One Huge Membership Site Or Lots of Little Ones?
When you are putting together your membership and hashing out the exact solution you’re going to provide, you’re probably confused about should you cover everything or should you cover only one specific problem. In other words, should you create one huge membership site or should you put out lots of little ones.
Now, normally when I create one-off products, I just like to say one problem, one solution. But when you’re making a membership site, it can get really crazy, especially if you offer things like upsells and different extra offers. People have to log in to these different membership sites.
The cool thing about a lot of membership software, such as Wishlist Member, is that if somebody already has an account and they purchase access to an additional member level, like an extra product, they can click on a special link and have that extra level applied to their existing account. For that reason, I would recommend to you that for a recurring membership, I would only create one membership per sub-niche.
Now, what’s a sub-niche? A sub-niche is a niche within a niche. This means that I would never have a membership just internet marketing. That’s too big of a space. But I would have a membership covering everything I know about list building. That way, if I have upsells about list building, people use the same exact membership site. That way, I have enough content to charge up to $97 per month for access to that. Have one membership site per sub-niche.
But the problem with having one site for all of your information is that it will be hard to navigate. Another example, I am also in the programming niche that includes things such as PHP, WordPress, JavaScript. Would I have one membership site for all things in programming? No way. I would have one membership site for PHP, one membership site for WordPress, and one membership site for JavaScript. You kind of have to have a membership site that’s not so big, that you can’t explain it, you can’t give an elevator pitch for. These would be small enough that you can give an elevator pitch, but big enough that you can store multiple products and charge a recurring monthly fee.
Now, think about this. Think about the drip content. If you give a product that has extra bonuses, extra lessons dripped out, think about how confusing that would be if somebody joined the site about internet marketing, which again is far too big of area for you to have a site about and for the first, where they got list building week one, they got product creation week one, they got article writing week one, they got site building week one, they got AdSense week one – all the stuff that’s flooding into that, it would be very confusing. But if you had a site just about site building, then you could very easily give them week one, week two, and week three lessons.
Keep those rules in mind when deciding if you want to have one huge site or lots of little ones. Pick a niche and then for each sub-niche within that, create a membership but don’t go too small or too big – because if you make a site too small, people will have to join multiple sites, and if you make it too big, people won’t be able to find anything once they joined your site.

If you’ve made a mistake in something, chances are a lot of people have already made the same mistakes before you. But the reason why you made the mistake is because you never heard about it and history repeated itself. I want you to avoid membership site mistakes. I want you to launch a membership site, make it profitable and keep making membership sites forever because membership sites for me are the easiest way to make money.
Here are three very important membership site mistakes for you to avoid right now – pricing too low, not marketing enough, and choosing the wrong niche.
How can you price too low? This idea goes over many people’s heads because pricing too low attracts the wrong customers. It attracts the impulse by customers and the cheapskate customers, not the good ones that you want. Pricing low does not guarantee everyone’s going to buy in your membership site. In fact, many times when I’ve doubled my price, I have increased my sales. Kind of counter intuitive, isn’t it? But it’s true.
Instead of pricing low, price high and market yourself better. Believe in yourself more. Promote yourself more and write a better sales letter to convince people that this higher price is worth much more than their going to pay. They get much more out of the membership site than they put in.
Speaking of marketing, are you getting enough traffic? Do you have new people getting on your list everyday? Are you paying for traffic? If you answered no to any of those questions, then you are not marketing your site enough.
We’ve all fallen into that trap. It’s just so easy to create a new membership site, to make new products instead of marketing the site you already have. But you’re going to get more money for your effort if you market the stuff you already have. Get yourself out there, always you making new joint venture connections, always be getting new people on your list and always have new sources or traffic.
The final membership mistake is a flaw in the membership site itself. Did you choose the wrong niche? Did you choose a niche such as coupons or people are just not willing to pay money to get access to coupons? Did you choose a niche that you are not allowed to do business in such as gambling because of regulations or did you choose a niche that’s not ongoing? For example, to treat someone’s yeast infection – once they’ve solved that problem, no one’s going to want to pay a monthly fee to get more training. The problem has been solved.
A better membership might be the guitar niche. You can always get more guitar instruction and there are always new songs to learn, new techniques to learn, new types of guitars to learn, new equipment to learn. That’s an example of a great niche that’s always ongoing.
I hope that helped you today to avoid the most common membership mistakes that occur over and over again – pricing too low, not marketing enough and choosing the wrong niche.
